If you’re looking for the best Disney Resorts for large families, then look no further! Disney World is possibly the number vacation spot for families, and this means that large families, groups, and even family reunions visit here and will need room to accommodate all these people.
Unfortunately, most resort rooms at Disney World only sleep up to 4 adults and a child under the age of 3. So where are these families and groups to stay when visiting Disney?
That’s where we come in! We’ve researched the best rooms at Disney resorts for large families and groups. We have the sizes of the rooms, the details and amenities, and everything you need to know to pick the best room on your next family vacation.
We are going to be focusing on rooms that can accommodate more than 5 adults. Since most rooms at Disney only sleep up to 4 adults, a lot of resorts won’t be found on this list. We will include the rooms that can sleep up to 5 adults or more, and keep in mind that means number of adults PLUS a child under 3. So if a room sleeps 8, it sleeps up to 8 adults and one child under 3.
You can basically mix and match the number of people when there are more kids, but can’t exceed the limit for the room. Also, not all rooms are created equal when it comes to size, and just because a room sleeps 8 people, it may not be comfortable for 8 adults to be in that room at all times. Note the square footage on a room, the number of bathrooms, and the type of kitchen it has as well.
While taking a large family to Disney World, you could also ask for adjoining rooms at most resorts in order to accommodate more people. But, we aren’t going to always suggest that. That can get very expensive – especially when staying at a Moderate or Deluxe Resort – and it’s easier to book a room that already sleeps more people.
Best Value Resorts for Large Families
Value resorts are exactly that – value priced for guests. These don’t come with as many amenities as the Moderate or Deluxe resorts, and they are typically not as close to the theme parks either. But, they are great for trying to travel to Disney on a budget. For more about all the Value Resorts at Disney, check out our best and worst list.
As you might guess, several of these aren’t going to be your best bet when looking for Disney resorts for large families. Thankfully a couple of them have some good options for groups on a budget.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Art of Animation is inspired by and themed to the animation styles of some Pixar and Disney favorites. This resort offers themed family suites as well, and these sleep up to 6 adults.
You can book a Cars, Lion King, or Finding Nemo themed family suites. All of these suites feature a kitchenette, 1 bathroom, and a sitting area/table. In the separate bedroom there is a Queen bed, and in the living room area is a Murphy bed (pull-down bed) hidden behind the dining table and a sleeper sofa as well.
These rooms are about 565 square feet, and with the separate bedroom, it would be a great room to accommodate several adults or a good-sized family.
Disney All-Star Music Resort
The All-Star Resorts are a style of Value Resorts that are focused on one theme, and the All-Star Music Resort is themed to some of the most popular music genres.
The All-Star Music resort is the only one of the All-Star resorts that offer Family Suites. These suites can sleep up to 6 adults. These rooms have a master bedroom with a Queen-sized bed and master bath, and in the family room there will either be two Queen Murphy beds or a sleeper sofa and sleeper ottoman. There is a kitchenette, as well as another full bathroom off of the family room.
These rooms are only 520 square feet, but having a separate bedroom helps make this room not feel as tight for larger families. Also, having the extra bathroom may make this a better value than the suites at Art of Animation!

If you have a larger family or group and you are looking to stay somewhere with lots of space, a kitchen, and you don’t want to pay the suite prices at some of the other resorts, then Deluxe Villas might be for you. We recommend renting your DVC points and staying in these awesome rooms at a discount!
These have some of the best options when it comes to the Disney Resorts for large families – the rooms are large, often have separate bedrooms, and pretty much function as apartments and condos.
If you’re curious about DVC, and wondering if it might be for you – check out the pros and cons!

Thinking about a Disney vacation in November to celebrate our granddaughter’s 18th birthday. She and her siblings all celebrated their 7th birthdays at Disneyworld and this is where they want to return to celebrate their sister’s 18th birthday. As retired grandparents, we are now looking for the best place to stay as a group within our budget. There may possibly be 6 adults and 4 children. We would like to stay on the premises. Date would possibly be November 22 through 29, leaving the morning of the 29. Are there any specials at this time to accommodate us? We are considering this vacation if financially possible and has the availability for our family. Thank you, Marcia Carlson

Hello Marcia!
You would have to call Disney or look online on their official website to find out any specials 🙂 we are a travel planning website, not a travel agent, and we cannot help with this kind of request! Thank you!

best recommendation for a large family looking to stay together as much as possible… we are 8 adults, 3 kiddos (aged three, four, five) and one mini kiddo (age 1). I’ve read the entire list but interested in your opinion. Please give me your top pick for our group size- money not a consideration, and also your best fit for our family size- money definitely a consideration
thank you!!!
