While Disney is a “family” place, that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun for adults too: Magic Kingdom for adults has tons of activities! From a Monorail Hotel Crawl that will take you beyond the park, to enjoying adult-friendly snacks at Peco Bills, and even riding Tron without child swap, the options are endless.
Magic Kingdom is fun for adults! I love going with a group of girls to ensure that we have the best time. I have also been solo, with my sister and Mom, etc! The attractions can be enjoyed more when I don’t have to worry about a kid not liking the intensity of it. And I love getting to branch out from traditional Chicken Fingers and Mac and Cheese.
So try out a Magic Kingdom Itinerary for adults. Enjoy your time in the park. I promise there is so much to do and explore!
Best Magic Kingdom Rides for Adults
Let’s put it this way. Magic Kingdom I home to five of the nine roller coasters at Disney World. So are there things to do for adults at Magic Kingdom? Yes!
If you are not a fan of intense rides, however, please know that rides do not discriminate based on age. Adults too can enjoy the classics and even the shows. But I’ll break it down step by step to show you what Magic Kingdom rides for adults should be put on your itinerary!
The Coasters:
TRON (the newest and obviously the most intense), Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. As an aside, adults can ride the Barnstormer… but know it is geared toward kids! Doesn’t make it any less enjoyable if you don’t like those big rides!
The Classics:
Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s A Small World (although may adults skip this, I love it, my sister loves it, it is just fun!). Adults may also enjoy Jungle Cruise for the humor or a nice relaxing ride on the PeopleMover! There aren’t bad options… unless you get stuck on It’s A Small World and have to listen to that song over and over again.
Honorable Mentions:
I LOVE Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. A shooting game in the dark? Sign me up! But I also know I may feel differently than other adults.
I always recommend this ride! Try and get the high score! This is what I try for every time, and I have gotten it multiple times!
I have also trained my sister on how to get the high score so now she can get it too!
Here are my 10 High Score Tips For Buzz Lightyear!
Best Restaurants at Magic Kingdom for Adults
While Magic Kingdom isn’t the Disney Park I would suggest for find dining, this doesn’t mean that you can’t have a great meal. The best restaurants at Magic Kingdom for adults are typically sit down ones. But there are great quick-service options too! Here are some of my favorite sit-down options:
Skipper’s Canteen
This restaurant is located in Adventureland. It’s tropical cuisine is exotic, and therefore, geared toward an adult crowd. Inside the restaurant, you get to immerse yourself in the legacy of the most iconic ride– the Jungle Cruise! Keep the ambiance of the Nile, Amazon and Congo Rivers as you sit and eat here.
I really love the flavors here. Famous apps such as the corn pancakes from the Orinoco Ida’s Cachapas are to die for. But I also love the sweet– but not overly sweet– dessert. Panna Connie’s features a mango-lime sorbet. Perfect for a pallet cleanser!
Personally, this is my favorite restaurant at Magic Kingdom and I always take adult friends or relatives here and it is a win every time.
Liberty Tree Tavern
Pay tribute to simpler times at Liberty Tee Tavern. With the New England-inspired fare and design, this is one of the places for the best Magic Kingdom dining for adults. This is a casual spot, however, it is a little more expensive in price. But we love the table service here.
My friend really loves the traditional family-style Thanksgiving since he doesn’t get turkey often during the year. He particularly loves eating this when sitting in the “Paul Revere” room, although I like to wander and through each of the pivotal figure’s rooms here. And I’ll also enjoy a slice of that Toffee Cake!
Be Our Guest Restaurant
Despite the fact that many may say that the Be Our Guest Restaurant is for kid because of the design and the chance to meet Beast– I argue otherwise! Who wouldn’t love to see this setting?! Step inside the Beast’s castle. Explore the ballroom, art gallery, and west wing.
You can enjoy lunch or dinner here: choose an appetizer, entrรฉe and dessert. I will say, however, you are paying for more of an experience rather than the meal itself. But try the grey stuff– it’s delicious!
This is my adult sister’s favorite restaurant at Magic Kingdom! She loves it and has been so many times!
Adult-Recommended Attractions at Magic Kingdom
Who doesn’t love good entertainment or a show? I know that when I go to Magic Kingdom, I often find myself in the Country Bear Jamboree, the Hall of Presidents, or Carousel of Progress. I think I am a bit of a history buff, so this is always interesting to me, but in the same breath, this is a great way to get away from super long lines and the heat!
I also love getting to see characters. Although I didn’t mention the Crystal Palace as one of the best restaurants, this is a fun way to enjoy a buffet and meet some friends like Pooh and Tigger!
I also enjoy going to see Ariel and Belle, as they are some of my favorite princesses, but Magic Kingdom in a day for adults doesn’t require seeing and meeting characters. This is your preference!
I will say, though, that you must check out the Happily Ever After Fireworks! Of all the Magic Kingdom attractions for adults, this consistently ranks my top three.
It makes your park visit a late night, but you can sing along and stare in awe at the stunning sights. And better yet? If you want to drop a pretty penny, try the Happily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party.
Best Adult-Friendly Snacks and Quick Service
Sometimes you just don’t have the time to sit and enjoy a full meal at a restaurant where you are waited on. That’s okay! Because there are tons of quick-service options, as well as adult-friendly snacks. This way you can get an alcoholic beverage or two, and maybe even avoid chicken tenders and French fries.
Peco Bills
Peco is one of the best quick-service options that tends to not be over crowded. The Mexican-inspired cuisine in Fronteirland makes a splash with its southwest salads and fajita plates. And don’t forget those mini churros. The chocolate sauce is to die for: plus, the prices are unmatched.
If I could only pick one quick service option for dinner at Magic Kingdom, this is the place!
Casey’s Corner
Just on Main Street USA, this famous attraction is a rite of passage. Casey’s Corner is THE BEST food for adults and even kids.
The hot dogs are amazing, and I, as a vegetarian, am so thankful for their plant-based slaw dog. Don’t forget those Corn Dog nuggets if you want something more basic. But get in line early– these are popular while waiting for fireworks!
They are also open after the park closes, so I often grab something on my way out of the parks too!
Columbia Harbour House
This is an adult-favorite place to eat in Magic Kingdom, hands down. The relaxed venue is perfect, and I feel like I can eat something healthier here!
Portions are hearty, and food is delicious at the Harbour house. From Lobster Roll to Grilled Salmon, there is a lot of seafood, but also options for all. Vegetarian chili anyone?
Adult Beverages
Sadly, you won’t be able to get a drink at a bar in Magic Kingdom. However, you can get a drink at a sit-down restaurant.
Places like: Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal table, The Crystal Palace, the Diamond Horseshoe and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant offer adult beverages. Typically, these encompass a variety of beer, wine, hard cider and themed cocktails.
But do be warned: Magic Kingdom is no Epcot!
The Best Adult Snacks
We all love a good snack in the park. But do we all want just a pretzel? Don’t be afraid to walk around and try something out of the norm when considering what to do in Magic Kingdom for adults. Branch out and get a new snack!
While Churros and Turkey Legs are a classic, eat a Nutella Waffle in the morning, or a Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich. Try a Pineapple Upside-down Cake, or just stick with a Mickey Ice Cream. No one is going to judge you!
Magic Kingdom is home to some of my very favorite snacks at Disney!
Beyond Magic Kingdom: Monorail Hotel Crawl
Honestly, the best drinks for adults at Magic Kingdom don’t exist at Magic Kingdom. So, after the park closes, take the monorail to go on a hotel crawl where you can experience the best bars outside the park!
First, it is important to note that hours vary across the parks and hotels. Closing time is typically midnight, but some bars stay open until 1AM or 2 AM.
Visiting the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian will take you to special places like Trader Sam’s Grotto, Enchanted Rose, and Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. You can also stop and check out places on Bay Lake! The options are endless and the night is young! Keeping this in mind, we all know that the best Magic Kingdom activities for adults may take place outside the park ๐
And there you have it, folks. Of all the things you can do at the plan, this will help break down a Magic Kingdom Touring plan for adults. Get some good food, stop by some drinks, ride the best rides, and enjoy an attraction or two. Your options are endless. And you don’t need to be of a certain age to enjoy this Disney Magic!
