What to Wear in Disney as a Mom
When it comes to what to wear in Disney as a mom, we want you to think about functionality and comfort first, but you don’t want to forget those Disney touches! You also want to be prepared for whatever weather you might be experiencing during your trip.
Dress for the Weather
Depending on what season you are visiting Disney World, you will need to tailor your outfits based on that. Your mom outfits for Disney should be comfortable for that weather, so wearing shorts and tanks when it’s hot, having layers for the cooler months, and having a rain cover-up of some kind is always a great idea. Whatever you would pack clothing-wise for your kiddos to be prepared should also apply to your outfits!
We have great outfit ideas for the whole family, not just mom, for every season, and you can check out some of our favorites for more outfit planning!
Have a Good Park Bag
Whether you need a baby bag, a backpack, or a tote, having a great bag as a mom is ideal for the perfect park day. Mom outfits for Disney need a good bag to keep all the snacks, sunscreen, and kid necessities inside so that you are prepared for whatever the day throws your way! Wear Comfortable Shoes
Regardless of what time of year you are going to Disney, all moms need comfy shoes! Make sure you are wearing broken in, reliable, and supportive shoes for those long days. If you’re going during rainier months, it’s also a great idea to have waterproof shoes and an extra pair of socks just in case.

Disney Outfit Ideas for Moms
When planning what to wear to Disney World as a mom, I want you to think about comfortable and functional outfits that you will still feel cute in – you’re going to be taking tons of photos and are going to want to be cute too! We recommend dressing for the weather and season that you are visiting in too.
Going to Disney is always a great time to take advantage of seasonal holidays, having those matching family outfits, and even Disneybounding as your favorite characters. And even when being festive, we promise that these are Disney mom outfits that work the whole day.
Use our cute Disney outfit ideas for mom as a starting place for your own:
- If you’re going when it’s warm, and want to match the family, we suggest a Disney family graphic tee paired with comfortable bike shorts, supportive and fun chunky sneakers, and a baseball cap to keep the sun off your face!
- Looking for something dressier for a nice dinner? Can’t go wrong with a breathable floral sundress, supportive sandals, and a crossbody bag to still keep your essentials with you without feeling bulky!
- Going when it’s a little cooler? Pair your favorite jeans with a Disney mom shirt, and then have a lightweight jacket that’s great for rain or cool nights. Top this with some Mickey ears, and you have the perfect fall/spring transitional outfit.
- Disneybounding as a family? Dress mom as her favorite princess, and wear an athletic dress with shorts in the princess’ color, pair it with matching colorful sneakers, and add some ears for a fun detail – our example is Cinderella!

Disney Mom Packing List by Weather
Like we’ve already mentioned, our Disney outfit ideas for moms will change by weather and season. I want you to be comfortable and not focused on your outfit, and instead focused on having a good time with your family! Use these tips for you – and your family – to be prepared for the different weather Orlando might be having. Here’s how to adjust Disney outfit ideas for mom based off the weather:
If it is Rainy…
No matter what season you go to Disney World, it’s probably going to rain. It’s a good idea to have either a lightweight rain jacket or a poncho ready to go for these moments. If you have a larger park bag, it is nice to have a poncho to throw over everything, especially if you’re not storing things in a stroller or locker.
I highly recommend a lightweight, packable rain jacket if you’re not going the poncho route. These are so easy to either fold up or even go in a little bag, and can easily be thrown into any bag or backpack, and don’t weigh a whole lot.
If it is Hot…
When you got to Disney in late spring or summer, it’s going to be HOT. Very hot. Make sure you stay hydrated, but also that you are slathering on the sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and have some type of hat to keep sun off of your face.
This is the time for lightweight, and light-colored clothing, as well as shorts and tanks. Everything you wear during the hotter months should be comfortable and breathable, so lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen are great for when it’s hot. We have even more tips for summer outfit ideas for the whole family too!
If it is Cooler…
If Disney is a little cooler than you expected, especially in the morning or at night, we suggest having a lightweight jacket or hoodie to throw on top of your outfit. These chillier mornings and the cooler times of year call for adding layers to your Disney outfit ideas for mom. Have lightweight layers you can take off/add on, and that you can easily store in a bag or Disney locker.

Essential Extras for Your Disney Mom Packing List
There are a few more things you might want to consider for Disney World packing. In addition to planning your Disney outfit ideas for mom, these are some things we think you should be bringing with you. They will make your life easier and make you more prepared for anything! If you want even more packing information, we have an extensive packing list for the non-moms!
- Raincoats/ponchos: like we’ve mentioned, these are a must-have for Disney trips. Make sure they are lightweight so they don’t add bulk or heat when it’s already warm outside.
- Sunscreen: Essential for whatever time you are heading to Florida. It’s sunny there, and you need to protect you and your family from the harmful rays.
- Extra clothes: Accidents happen of course, so having extra socks or outfits for your kids in your park bag are always a good idea.
- Baby/kid necessities: Formula, baby food, diapers, wipes, or anything else you might need for your kid to make it through a long day! Forget something? The baby care center in each park has these essentials to help a mom out!
- Feminine care products: It’s better to be prepared and have these with you, whether it’s for you or for your teens. Always a great idea to have a few in your park bag just in case.
- Snacks: It’s never a bad idea to have some granola bars, crackers, or little snacks in your bag – especially if you have picky eaters with you! It’s great for saving money, or making sure you always have something with you that your kids want to eat.
- Portable phone charger: Always a great idea to have a portable charger for long park days, especially when you are using your phone to book rides and reservations, and maybe keep the kids busy in line!
- Disney merchandise: If you’re headed to Disney, you don’t want to forget your ears, hats, tees, and Spirit Jerseys! Gotta be in theme for park days!
